January 23, 2025

The Tibet Museum is situated in the southeast of Norbulingkha, which was once the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. Although the museum was initially constructed in 1999, after significant renovations and expansions, the current magnificent and imposing museum was reopened in 2022. The museum is designed with entirely Tibetan style elements. It has two floors. The main building of the museum is dedicated to exhibitions. On the first floor, a vast collection of cultural and ethnographic artifacts spanning from prehistoric times to the modern era can be found. The fundamental purpose of the museum is to preserve the culture of the Tibetan people and to showcase the works and living styles of their ancestors. Consequently, the Tibet Museum is an outstanding destination to gain an understanding of the genuine traditional living style of the Tibetan people and to experience their cultural diversity.
