Please carefully read our Terms and Conditions before booking any Tibet tour with Tibet Roof of World. Make sure you fully understand both your rights and responsibilities, as well as ours.

By booking with us, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these terms. We will provide a formal tour contract for your protection. Once you confirm your tour, simply sign and return the contract to secure your booking and safeguard your rights.

Your Eligibility and Responsibility

To join our Tibet tours, you must meet our booking requirements and take responsibility for your travel information and behavior.

All travelers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or adult aged 18 or above, and cannot join private tours alone.

Please read and understand all terms before booking. If you have any questions, contact your travel consultant before signing the contract. Once signed, all terms are legally binding on both sides.

Booking and Confirmation Policy

According to our booking policy, both private and group Tibet tours will only be officially confirmed once you pay the required deposit.

After we receive your deposit, we will immediately start processing your Tibet Travel Permit, which normally takes at least 15 working days.

We will handle every step carefully and keep you updated on the progress. This permit is essential for your smooth and safe trip to Tibet.

We kindly ask for your patience during the application period, so we can ensure all travel documents are ready before your departure, making your Tibetan journey worry-free and enjoyable.

Payment Policy

You can make payment via PayPal or bank transfer to our company account. All our Tibet tour prices are listed in US dollars unless we note otherwise.

As per our payment policy, full payment must be made before your tour starts.

We will provide clear payment details to help you complete the process easily, ensuring your trip goes smoothly without any payment delays.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Though tour cancellations after booking are very rare, we understand unexpected things can happen. If we must cancel your Tibet tour due to personal reasons or natural disasters, Tibet Roof of World will process your refund based on the time before your departure.

We will only deduct a reasonable amount to cover our labor and preparation work, as detailed below. We always treat every traveler with care and do our best to minimize your loss, hoping to bring you a reassuring and warm travel experience.

Important Note

If your tour is canceled due to government regulations, permit closures or other unforeseen official restrictions beyond our control, Tibet Roof of World will only charge a service fee of $50 per person to cover our preparation and labor costs. The rest of your payment will be fully refunded.

Insurance

To assure your Tibet journey swiftly with us, we provide every traveler with basic travel insurance (Liability insurance) along with Tibet Travel Permit (TTP). However, this covers only essential needs—Tibet’s unique plateau environment and travel uncertainties. Hence, we strongly recommend you purchase comprehensive insurance which includes emergency medical evacuation (critical for high altitudes, natural uncertainties), trip cancellation protection, and coverage for lost or damaged personal belongings. This extra layer of security lets you explore Tibet’s stunning landscapes and cultural gems without worries, ensuring your journey is safe, smooth, and full of wonderful memories.

Complaint

As a long-established, experienced Tibet travel agency, Tibet Roof of World always strives to provide you with the warmest and most reliable service. If at any point during your trip you encounter issues with our guide, driver, accommodation, or other arrangements, please let us know immediately so we can fix it promptly to meet your expectations. Last-minute arguments or complaints benefit either side and will only ruin your mood of travel. We kindly ask that you stay in touch with your personal tour consultant throughout your Tibet journey, so we can solve problems right away and ensure you enjoy a smooth, worry-free trip.

Alteration of Itinerary & Booking Changes

Your Tibet tour booking will be legally confirmed once we receive your deposit and signed contract.

We are happy to accommodate your itinerary adjustments: the first two changes are completely free of charge.

Starting from the third modification, a service fee of $20 will apply for each adjustment, and you will be responsible for any additional costs incurred. Please note that late changes may not be possible, as they will directly affect the processing of your Tibet Travel Permit.

1: Tibet Travel Permit

Without Tibet Travel Permits, you cannot enter Tibet (Tibet Autonomous Region), China, but it is not difficult to obtain the permit, registered company like TRW, it can be easily obtain it for you if your Tibet Tour has been confirmed with a legit registered local travel company.

2: Alien Permit

Alien Travel Permit (ATP) is an additional permit which is required if your itinerary is in Gyirong, Kailash, Ngari and EBC in western part of Tibet,Tsedang,Nyinchi, Ranwo Lake, Basum Lake, Sakga or Shalu Monasteries in Shigatse area,

3: Military Permit

The Military Permits as you can see from the word, this permit is related to military department, thus, this travel document is mainly issued by the military authority in Tibet, in fact, this permit is compulsory for entering to any border regions between China and neighboring countries. Military permits are required for visiting following places in Tibet apart from TTP.

  • Ali (Far Western Tibet)
  • Guge Kingdom (Far Western Tibet)
  • Gyirong (New Border to Nepal)
  • Lake Manasarovar (Near Mt. Kailash in Far Western Tibet)
  • Kailash (Western Tibet)
  • Nyima country (Border country between Ali and Nakchu Prefecture)
  • Cochin

NOTE: This permit can apply only from Lhasa, Tibet, you don’t have to worry about it as our company (TRW) will obtain such permits on your behalf and you just need to cooperate by sending your scanned copies of China Visa/TGV and Passport to your travel consultant. Tibet Travel Permit (TTP) is the basic required permit to travel to Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), every foreign travelers must need Tibet Travel Permit to enter to Tibet along with your Chinese Visa or Tibet Group Visa. Though it seems very hard or confusing, it just takes few simple steps, and your travel agency will do the rest.

Tibet Travel Permit is mainly obtained from Tibet Tourism Bureau in Lhasa, Tibet, which contains the tourist’s information and confirmed itineraries.

According to the latest Chinese regulations for foreign visitors, passports must have a validity of six months (at least) to apply for a Chinese visa. This requirement also applies when traveling to Tibet along with Tibet Travel Permit.
