Tour Plan

Day1. Arrival to Kyirong border (2700m0 from Syabrubesi)
The heart of the journey is crossing the China-Nepal Friendship Bridge over the Trishuli River. This steel bridge spans the border, symbolizing the bond between the two nations. On the Nepalese side, you’ll see bustling small traders and colorful local markets; on the Tibetan side, the landscape shifts abruptly to alpine meadows and Tibetan-style architecture. After completing immigration and customs formalities, the drive into Tibet begins—marking the start of your Kyirong adventure.

Day2. Kyirong to New Tingri (4050m),270Km
Riding a motorcycle from Kyirong to New Tingri is a soul-stirring journey through Tibet’s most dramatic landscapes, where every twist of the road unfolds postcard-perfect vistas of snow-capped peaks, turquoise lakes, and ancient Tibetan charm. This route, along the iconic G219, is a celebration of Tibet’s raw, unspoiled beauty.

Day3. New Tingri-to Shigatse (3900m),327Km
Ride from New Tingri to Shigatse on a motorcycle, and every mile unfolds Tibet’s raw, timeless beauty—snow-capped peaks, turquoise lakes, and ancient culture.

Day4. Shigatse to Lhasa(3650m),340Km (B)
Riding from Shigatse to Lhasa on my motorcycle, every mile brims with warmth and wonder. Though the journey feels long, the smooth paved road and cool mountain air make every moment pleasant and enjoyable. Along the way, stop often to soak in Tibet’s raw natural beauty—glaciers glinting in the sun, turquoise lakes stretching to the horizon. A quick coffee break with sweet snacks turns the ride into a cozy, unforgettable adventure, letting you savor the highlands’ magic at your own pace.

Day5. Lhasa City Tour (B)
Today you will visit the majestic Potala Palace, the former winter residence of the Dalai Lamas and iconic symbol of Tibet. After lunch, you will visit to the spiritual heart of Lhasa, the Jokhang Temple, a revered pilgrimage site for Tibetans.
Then you can immerse yourself in local life of Tibetan in Barkhor street, the traditional Tibetan market and devotional kora route surrounding the temple.

Day6. Lhasa to Shigatse (B)
Set off from Lhasa bright and early, so you’ll have plenty of time to soak in every sight along the way to Shigatse.
First stop: the sacred, breathtaking Yamdrok Lake, its waters a vivid, unreal turquoise. From afar, snow-capped Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (7,191m) stands majestically, its peak glinting in the sun. Then marvel at the spectacular Karola Glacier, where blue ice glows against the sky.
In Gyantse, explore the peaceful Pelkor Chode Monastery and the iconic Kumbum Stupa—Tibet’s most revered Buddhist stupa, rich with history and faith.
Finally, ride through rolling Tibetan countryside to Shigatse: Tibet’s second-largest city and the sacred seat of the Panchen Lama, the second-highest Lama in the Gelugpa Buddhist tradition.

Day7. Shigatse to Shegar(4050m),240Km (B)
In the morning, visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery—the sacred seat of the second-highest lama in Tibetan Buddhism, where red walls and golden roofs hold centuries of quiet faith.
After lunch, set off for Shegar along a smooth paved road. The journey unfolds with vast grasslands stretching to the horizon, where yaks graze lazily and distant snow-capped peaks peek through the clouds. Prayer flags flutter gently in the wind by the roadside, adding a touch of warmth to the boundless highland scenery.

Overnight in Shegar

Day8.Shegar to EBC (5050m),350Km
Today, we ride toward EBC, the dream destination for millions of travelers to Tibet. Along the way, feel the cool mountain breeze brush your cheeks as you glide along smooth, well-paved roads. Pause for a warm coffee break, soak in the vast highland views, and snap photos of snow-capped peaks and endless skies. Every mile feels light, every moment full of quiet wonder.
Attraction: Mt. Everest, Gawula pass, EBC
Overnight in EBC Guesthouse or Rongbuk Guesthouse

Day9. EBC to Kyirong via Old Tingri
In the morning, we’ll watch the stunning sunrise over Mount Everest and snap some memorable photos to hold onto these incredible moments. After that, we’ll visit Rongbuk Monastery – one of the world’s highest-altitude monasteries, with such a unique and peaceful vibe. Then we’ll hop back in the car and drive to Kyirong.

Day10. Depart from Tibet via Kyirong border
Now it’s time to bid farewell to Tibet, carrying all the beautiful and unforgettable memories from your journey here. Your guide will accompany you to the customs checkpoint, where you’ll cross the border into Nepal.

1: Tibet Travel Permit

Without Tibet Travel Permits, you cannot enter Tibet (Tibet Autonomous Region), China, but it is not difficult to obtain the permit, registered company like TRW, it can be easily obtain it for you if your Tibet Tour has been confirmed with a legit registered local travel company.

2: Alien Permit

Alien Travel Permit (ATP) is an additional permit which is required if your itinerary is in Gyirong, Kailash, Ngari and EBC in western part of Tibet,Tsedang,Nyinchi, Ranwo Lake, Basum Lake, Sakga or Shalu Monasteries in Shigatse area,

3: Military Permit

The Military Permits as you can see from the word, this permit is related to military department, thus, this travel document is mainly issued by the military authority in Tibet, in fact, this permit is compulsory for entering to any border regions between China and neighboring countries. Military permits are required for visiting following places in Tibet apart from TTP.

  • Ali (Far Western Tibet)
  • Guge Kingdom (Far Western Tibet)
  • Gyirong (New Border to Nepal)
  • Lake Manasarovar (Near Mt. Kailash in Far Western Tibet)
  • Kailash (Western Tibet)
  • Nyima country (Border country between Ali and Nakchu Prefecture)

Tibet Travel Permit (TTP) is the basic required permit to travel to Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), every foreign travelers must need Tibet Travel Permit to enter to Tibet along with your Chinese Visa or Tibet Group Visa. Though it seems very hard or confusing, it just takes few simple steps, and your travel agency will do the rest.

Tibet Travel Permit is mainly obtained from Tibet Tourism Bureau in Lhasa, Tibet, which contains the tourist’s information and confirmed itineraries.

According to the latest Chinese regulations for foreign visitors, passports must have a validity of six months (at least) to apply for a Chinese visa. This requirement also applies when traveling to Tibet along with Tibet Travel Permit.
