Description: 12 Days Lhasa-Mt. Kailash Yatra-Lhasa is sacred spiritual tour package, this tour will highlight major attractions in Lhasa and precious Mt. Kailash Trek.

Included/Exclude

  • All necessary travel permits to Tibet;
  • Entrance ticket fees for all the sight spots listed in the program;
  • Private transportation in Tibet: Comfortable tourist van in Lhasa and 4WD land cruiser rest of the trip (car gasoline is included);
  • Private guide: English speaking local Tibetan guide;
  • Lodging: 3nights in Lhasa, 1night in Shigatse, 2night in Saga, 1night in Darchen, 3 night in guesthourse during Mt.Kailash Kora and at EBC and 1 night in Kyirong
  • Pick-up and send-off services at the beginning/end of the tour;
  • Oxygen canisters: 2 canisters for each person;
  • Lodging and meals for guide and drivers;
  • First aid kit;
  • Liability travel insurance;
  • Basic camping gears: tents, mattresses and sleeping bags, but recommend you to bring you own sleeping bag if you have good ones;
  • 2 porters during the trekking days for carrying your hand bags (if need additional porters you have pay by yourself);

Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival to Lhasa by Air
Overnight in Lhasa

Day 2: Lhasa City Tour (3650m)
In the morning, you’ll visit Jokhang Temple, the most renowned Buddhist temple in Tibet. Your guide will explain its rich history and profound significance to the Tibetan people in detail. Then you’ll take a short drive to Sera Monastery, one of the largest Gelug sect Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Tibet. After your exploration of the monastery, make your way to its courtyard – where you’ll see monks gathering in different groups to take part in traditional religious debates.

Day 3: Lhasa City Tour
Today, you’ll visit the Potala Palace – the iconic symbol of Tibet and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch, you’ll head to Norbulingka, the traditional summer palace of the Dalai Lama.

Day 4: Lhasa (3600m) - Gyantse (3900m)-Shigatse (3950) 359Km, 6h30m
Attractions: Yamdrok Lake, Karola Glacier, Gyantse Kubum stupa and Pelkhor Choede Monastery
Today you’ll drive to Gyantse – a historic Tibetan town lovingly called the Hero Town. On the way, we’ll stop at Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s most beautiful and sacred lakes, where you can snap photos as much as you like and soak in the breathtaking natural scenery, all framed by snow-capped mountain peaks. After that, we’ll take a gentle short trek along Karola Glacier, a little walk with incredible up-close glacier views. Then we’ll head on to Gyantse to explore two beloved local landmarks: Pelkhor Choede Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum Stupa. You’ll be truly amazed by their exquisite ancient artwork – every detail brims with Tibet’s rich cultural charm.
Overnight in Shigatse

Day 5: Shigatse (3900m) - Lhatse-Saga (4500m) 495Km, 7h
Attractions: Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, The wild landscape of Western Tibet, Qangtang plateau
In the morning, visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, the official seat of the Panchen Lama. Afterwards, travel west across Tibet along the national highway. En route, admire the breathtaking snow-capped Himalayan peaks and vast open grasslands teeming with wildlife, with plenty of stops to take photos and soak in the scenery.
Overnight in Saga

Day 6: Saga-Darchen(4600m) 520Km, 9h
Attractions: Wild landscape of Western Tibet, Qangtang plateau
Your authentic Western Tibet wilderness adventure begins right here, with breathtaking vistas of the Tibetan Plateau unfolding at every turn.
Journey 520 km alongside the Yarlung Tsangpo River through spectacular landscapes, with a stop at sacred Lake Mansarovar — one of Tibet’s three most revered holy lakes.
Hindus believe bathing in its pure waters purifies sins, while its peaceful lakeshore offers an ideal spot for quiet meditation. Afterwards, continue to Darchen, the base camp for Mount Kailash trekking.
Overnight stay in Darchen.

Day 7: First Day of Mt. Kailash Kora-Darchen to Dirapuk(5080m),20Km
Attractions:Lake Manasarovar, Sand dunes, Distance view of Mt. Kailash
The first day of our trek will take us 20 kilometres from Darchen around Mt. Kailash to Dira Puk Monastery. You will follow this ancient pilgrimage route with Tibetan Buddhist and Indian Hindu pilgrims. You will stay in a small guesthouse near the monastery. The elevation of Dira Puk Monastery is 5080 meters.

Day8. Second Day of Mt. Kailash Kore-Dirapuk to Zutul Puk (4820m),18Km
Attractions: Wild landscape around Mt. Kailash
The second day of our trek around Kailash will take us up and over the Dolma La Pass, the highest pass on the circuit at 5630 meters. Excellent mountains and glacier views will follow you for most of the day. From the Dolma La Pass, you will descend to Zutul Puk Monastery, elevation 4820 meters. The total trekking distance today is 18 kilometres.

Day 9: 3rd Day Mt. Kailash Trekking-Zuktupuk (4790m)-Darchen-Drive to Saga

Day12. Saga-EBC(5050m),550Km
Attractions;Snow-capped towering peaks of the Himalayas, featuring the iconic Northern Face of Mount Everest.
Today, you will drive to Mt. Everest Base Camp, another stunning attraction of the tour. On the way, you will see the natural beauty of Peikutso Lake, experience the great view of Mt. Shishapama, which is another sacred mountains in Tibet. Also you will enjoy the distant view of Northern Face of Mt. Everest.
Overnight in Rongbuk Monastery Guesthouse

Day 11: EBC-Kyirong
Attractions:Distinct view of Mt, Everest, Mt. Choyu, Lalung La Pass
In the morning, visit Rongbuk Monastery, the world’s highest-altitude monastery, before continuing your journey to Kyirong.
Stay overnight at a hotel in Kyirong

Day 12: Departure from Tibet via Kyirong
Your guide will assist you with all border formalities, after which you’ll proceed onward into Nepal to continue your journey.

1: Tibet Travel Permit

Without Tibet Travel Permits, you cannot enter Tibet (Tibet Autonomous Region), China, but it is not difficult to obtain the permit, registered company like TRW, it can be easily obtain it for you if your Tibet Tour has been confirmed with a legit registered local travel company.

2: Alien Permit

Alien Travel Permit (ATP) is an additional permit which is required if your itinerary is in Gyirong, Kailash, Ngari and EBC in western part of Tibet,Tsedang,Nyinchi, Ranwo Lake, Basum Lake, Sakga or Shalu Monasteries in Shigatse area,

3: Military Permit

The Military Permits as you can see from the word, this permit is related to military department, thus, this travel document is mainly issued by the military authority in Tibet, in fact, this permit is compulsory for entering to any border regions between China and neighboring countries. Military permits are required for visiting following places in Tibet apart from TTP.

  • Ali (Far Western Tibet)
  • Guge Kingdom (Far Western Tibet)
  • Gyirong (New Border to Nepal)
  • Lake Manasarovar (Near Mt. Kailash in Far Western Tibet)
  • Kailash (Western Tibet)
  • Nyima country (Border country between Ali and Nakchu Prefecture)
  • Cochin

Tibet Travel Permit (TTP) is the basic required permit to travel to Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), every foreign travelers must need Tibet Travel Permit to enter to Tibet along with your Chinese Visa or Tibet Group Visa. Though it seems very hard or confusing, it just takes few simple steps, and your travel agency will do the rest.

Tibet Travel Permit is mainly obtained from Tibet Tourism Bureau in Lhasa, Tibet, which contains the tourist’s information and confirmed itineraries.

According to the latest Chinese regulations for foreign visitors, passports must have a validity of six months (at least) to apply for a Chinese visa. This requirement also applies when traveling to Tibet along with Tibet Travel Permit.
