Day 1: Arrival in Kyirong

Nepal border to Kyirong (2600m), enter China from Kyirong port. Our guide will assist you upon arrival in Kyirong.

Overnight at Kyirong (B)

FYI: If time permits, obtain ATP; otherwise, it can be done the next day after office opens.

Day 2: Kyirong to Rongbuk (5050m) via Peku Lake (4600m) (B)

Attractions: Rongbuk Monastery, Everest Base Camp (EBC), and Peku Lake.

Overnight in Rongbuk Guesthouse

Day 3: EBC (5050m) – Shigatse (3900m), 360 km (B)

After exploring Everest Base Camp, gradually drive to Shigatse city (3900m), 360 km.

Day 4: Work on Mandatory Paper (B)

Today our staff will assist you with necessary paperwork for the trip.

Day 5: Shigatse – Lhasa (3650m), 360 km (B)

Attractions: Karola Glacier (7200m), Yamdrok Lake (4880m).

Day 6: Lhasa City Tour (B)

Attractions: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and bustling Barkhor Street.

Day 7: Lhasa Spiritual Tour

Attractions: Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, and monks’ debate.

Day 8: Lhasa to Lulang (2800m) via Linzhi, 476 km (B)

Drive through one of the most beautiful regions in Tibet, often called “Tibet’s Switzerland,” and explore the rich forests of Lulang.

Day 9: Lulang – Bomi – Ranwu Town (360 km, 6–7 hrs) (B)

Scenic drive with stops along the way to capture photos and explore beautiful glaciers in China.

Day 10: Ranwu Town – Markam (430 km, 6 hrs) via G318 Highway (B)

Attractions: Dongda Mountain Pass (5008m), Zogang Grasslands, and views of remote nomadic herders.

Day 11: Markam – Deqin – Shangrila (400 km, 7–8 hrs) (B)

Pass by Meili Snow Mountain and Baima Snow Mountain Pass.

Day 12: Shangrila – Dali (430 km, 8–9 hrs) (B)

Attractions: Lijiang Ancient Town, Dali Ancient Town.

Day 13: Dali – Kunming (339 km, 4–5 hrs) (B)

Morning visit to the Three Pagodas and Erhai Lake.

Overnight in Kunming

Day 14: Kunming – Xishuangbanna via Puer (520 km, 8 hrs) (B)

Drive via G8511 Kunmo Expressway. Stop at Yuanjiang for lunch and views of the Red River Valley. Explore Puer tea mountains en route.

Day 15: Xishuangbanna – Mohan Border (210 km, 4 hrs)

End of the journey at Mohan Border.

1: Tibet Travel Permit

Without Tibet Travel Permits, you cannot enter Tibet (Tibet Autonomous Region), China, but it is not difficult to obtain the permit, registered company like TRW, it can be easily obtain it for you if your Tibet Tour has been confirmed with a legit registered local travel company.

2: Alien Permit

Alien Travel Permit (ATP) is an additional permit which is required if your itinerary is in Gyirong, Kailash, Ngari and EBC in western part of Tibet,Tsedang,Nyinchi, Ranwo Lake, Basum Lake, Sakga or Shalu Monasteries in Shigatse area,

3: Military Permit

The Military Permits as you can see from the word, this permit is related to military department, thus, this travel document is mainly issued by the military authority in Tibet, in fact, this permit is compulsory for entering to any border regions between China and neighboring countries. Military permits are required for visiting following places in Tibet apart from TTP.

  • Ali (Far Western Tibet)
  • Guge Kingdom (Far Western Tibet)
  • Gyirong (New Border to Nepal)
  • Lake Manasarovar (Near Mt. Kailash in Far Western Tibet)
  • Kailash (Western Tibet)
  • Nyima country (Border country between Ali and Nakchu Prefecture)
  • Cochin

Tibet Travel Permit (TTP) is the basic required permit to travel to Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), every foreign travelers must need Tibet Travel Permit to enter to Tibet along with your Chinese Visa or Tibet Group Visa. Though it seems very hard or confusing, it just takes few simple steps, and your travel agency will do the rest.

Tibet Travel Permit is mainly obtained from Tibet Tourism Bureau in Lhasa, Tibet, which contains the tourist’s information and confirmed itineraries.

According to the latest Chinese regulations for foreign visitors, passports must have a validity of six months (at least) to apply for a Chinese visa. This requirement also applies when traveling to Tibet along with Tibet Travel Permit.
